Camp opportunities and support

Each year, we send children from our community to The Salvation Army Ontario Camping Ministries camps, including Blaze Adventure Camp for children ages 7–10. Jackson's Point Camp is located on the south shore of Lake Simcoe and home of the Blaze Adventure Camp and a variety of other programs each summer. Whereas, the Newport Adventure Camp is located in Muskoka and designed for older youth, offering rock climbing, canoeing, archery tag, campfires, and engaging Bible programming.

For many children, camp is the only vacation they will experience all year. We are committed. Camp is also an opportunity for growth, confidence, friendship, and spiritual development in a safe and encouraging environment.

Our camps provide trained counsellors, structured programming, and meaningful mentorship that helps children build self-esteem and resilience. Through activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery, crafts, and outdoor adventure, campers learn new skills while forming lasting friendships.

Most importantly, children experience the love of Jesus in a way that is personal, welcoming, and hope-filled.

Our commitment

We work closely with families to:

  • Ensure financial barriers do not prevent a child from attending camp by providing assistance or subsidies where needed
  • Arrange transportation to and from camp
  • Ensure all safety and screening requirements are met
  • Support children before and after camp for continued growth

Registration

Initial conversations with families often begin during fall or winter programming. Formal camp registration typically opens in early spring. Following camp, our team connects with families to celebrate the experience and encourage continued involvement in church and community programming.
