Christmas assistance
Program details and eligibility
During the Christmas season, our Christmas Assistance Program supports local families with children who are facing financial hardship by providing food and gifts that help make the holiday season joyful and meaningful.
We understand that Christmas can place additional financial strain on families. Our program ensures that children experience the excitement of Christmas morning and that families can enjoy a holiday meal together. Christmas is for the kids — and every child deserves a gift.
What We Provide
- Grocery gift certificates based on household size
- Toys and gifts for children ages 0–17
- Referrals to additional community supports when needed
Who is eligible
This program is designed for families facing financial hardship with dependent children (0–17 years of age) living in Leamington, Ontario.
At the time of the appointment, applicants are required to provide:
- Identification for all family members (e.g., birth certificate, driver’s licence, health card, Ontario photo card, passport, refugee protection identity document)
- Proof of Leamington residency (e.g., driver’s licence, utility bill, official mail)
- Proof of income (e.g., two most recent pay stubs, bank statement, online banking deposit history, documentation of ODSP or OW)
- A signed declaration confirming they have not and will not apply for Christmas assistance at another agency
Single adults without dependents are encouraged to connect with other community organizations that provide support tailored to their needs, such as Goodfellows Leamington or the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
